Bill Summary:
SB731 Sunset of Criminal Convictions, expands current law to include anyone convicted of a felony. This bill would expunge or seal records of those who have completed their jail sentence and probation and remained free of the justice system for two years, so as to help those individuals get access to jobs, housing and re-enter society. This would also help the economy as the state loses over $20B annually due to policies that disenfranchises those with a criminal record.
